What is Absorb Finance?
Absorb Finance is a web and mobile app that makes it easier to read the news. News articles from the various online websites are posted and curated by a growing community of Finance Professionals, who use a simple but effective voting system to help filter the most interesting and relevant news articles. Absorb Finance formats all the articles so that they are easy to browse, enjoyable to read, and simple to discuss.
Why are we building Absorb Finance?
Having access to current events and up-to-date information is a crucial part of our industry because of it’s constantly changing nature. News enriches us; it’s how we know what’s happening, what we need to be careful of, and what we should be excited about. It shapes our decisions, and influences the way we think.
We’re building Absorb Finance because we think it’s important to have useful modern tools for accessing the news.

Articles are displayed in a list
All the articles posted by users are displayed in a scrollable list. Users can browse the list, click on an article, and read it (nicely formatted) inside our web and mobile app.

Users can also add their opinions, start discussions, and engage with other Finance Professionals in the community by commenting on our site. As Charles Darwin said, “In the long history of humankind (and animal kind, too) those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed.”
Popular News list is generated
The articles with the most upvotes filter to the top of the “Popular News” section of Absorb Finance. Our sorting algorithm doesn’t only consider the number of upvotes, but also the date an article is posted and the number of comments made. This means the community can see the best, most relevant news, in real time.
Building a community
For Absorb Finance to truly work, we need a community to form and help curate the news. Beta testers each have 5 invites to begin with, and we would greatly appreciate it if you could think about who might get value from Absorb Finance and invite them to join the community.
We’re excited about extending and refining Absorb Finance, so please don’t hesitate to give us feedback on how we can improve your experience.
